Want more than just the book?

on

Have you ever read a book and wanted to keep yourself in that world whilst you wait for the next one? Wanted to find out more about characters or places you visit through the pages? There is so much more available online – much more fun than wasting time on the Xbox! A couple of websites I have had a look at recently are, of course, Pottermore.com and http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page – a wiki site where anyone can add extra information that they know about the Harry Potter world. You need to take some articles with a pinch of salt, as because anyone can add to it, someone might write something silly. Remember e-safety, if you see something inappropriate, close down the site an tell an adult.

In the website above, there are many resources on keeping up with characters in the sometimes confusing Percy Jackson series. Riordan also gives book recommendations on this site – I am just about to Amazon Gregor the Over lander by Suzanne Collins as he reckons it’s a good page turner, I like the concept of it and it’s written by the author of the Hunger Games.

Lovers of Michael Morpurgo will enjoy the extra activities inspired by his stories, including quizzes, word searches  etc.
