A funny read that is definitely ‘random’. I love the main character, Liam, as although he is only 12 he can pass as an adult! He’s really tall and even has the beginnings of a moustache and beard! Because of this, he can get away with a lot – my favourite stunt of his being when he goes to a Porshe garage with his friend who poses as his child! Just imagine! Hilarious!
The author starts the book introducing Liam where he is at the end of the book (stuck in space) and uses flash backs to help us learn more about how Liam got there. It naturally makes you want to read on as you want to know how he got himself into such an awful mess.
It wasn’t laugh out loud funny like David Williams or Roald Dahl, but it was quite clever. I’d give it about a 7/10.
In the back of the book, it has an interview with the author. One of the questions is ‘what advice would you give to aspiring writers’. His response I think is really good, I might have to keep a diary like this!
