- Goodnight Mister Tom by Amelia in year 5
If you have not read Goodnight Mister Tom, I would recommend that book because it has some really good language in it. As well as this, when I read the blurb it made me more interested than ever (read below)
Young Willie Beech is evacuated to the country as Britain stands in the brink of war. A sad, deprived child, he slowly begins to flourish under the care if old Tom Oakley – but his new found happiness is shattered by a summons from his mother back in London…
I am sure you will absolutely enjoy this book although the first chapter is a struggle to get through with the drone drone drone about the graveyard. I love the language and I’m sure you will as well.
