The Windvale Sprites by Mckenzie Crook

Starting with a witty prologue which left me wanting more, Crook did not disappoint with this fantastic book!

Asa discovers a fairy-like creature after a terrible storm and his thirst for further knowledge and understanding leads him to investigate a rather bonkers man who lived in his town two hundred years ago…

This is one of my favourite books I have read so far this summer holiday. I was a bit apprehensive, as sometimes when famous people turn to writing books, they aren’t always that great… Crook, however, seems to be a natural story teller and a talented illustrator!

Do you recognise the pirates above from Pirates of the Caribbean? Mckenzie Crook is the one on the right hand side – the one with the wooden eye!

I thought I recognised McKenzie Crook from somewhere, at least I know now.
