I had no idea that CBBC had their own book club! What a great idea! This could be another great way to get up to date with new and exciting books quickly and easily.
They asked viewers what their favourite books were and flicking through the comments, they seem to be reading similar stuff to me/children who use this blog. Authors such as David Walliams, J K Rowling, Jaqueline Wilson, Suzanne Collins etc. The book club’s book of the month though was ‘The Brilliant World of Tom Gates’. If you read my blog on the Tom Gates series, you’ll know that although I can see the appeal of them, I just found the story a bit bland. I won’t judge them for it though – we’re all entitled to our own opinions!
I need to keep an eye on this programme and website! I also need to read the Person Controller by David Baddiel (the guy in the glasses). His previous book, The Parent Agency, was hilarious!
I’ve read the person controller and you can get them in WHSmiths for around £15

What did you think of it? Have you read the Parent Agency? If so, is it better?
Thanks Mia!

I watch the book club on CBBC – they do recommend really good books on there(/their?) and I have read and enjoyed a lot of them.

Their – remember the ‘I’ for possession. What books have they recommended recently?

Well they did recommend a Tom Gates book recently. I’m not sure what one but as I’m not a fan of Tom Gates i didn’t pay very much attention.
