I was really sad to hear the news that actor, Alan Rickman, has died. It’s always sad to hear when someone is poorly and then passes away. It’s a reminder to me that we should always be grateful for what we have and the enjoy all the adventures that life takes us on.

You may not know him by name, but Alan Rickman was a very famous actor who you would most probably recognise as being Professor Snape in the Harry Potter films. Even though I read the books before the film came out and do still have an image of what I thought Snape would look like, whenever I revisit the books, I now see Alan Rickman. Snape’s life story is one of the most interesting and secretive of all of the Harry Potter characters.

I know that I, as Alan aimed to do, will at 80 be reading Harry Potter (again) and will respond to critics in the same fashion.

The scene in the final film below always gets me. Alan really nails the emotions. (If you haven’t seen the films or read the last book, don’t watch it, as it will spoil the story!) There are two parts. This is the first video and it should just load up the second one after.
