I absolutely loved ‘Once’ by Morris Gleitzman, a fantastic story of a Jewish boy in Poland who doesn’t really understand what on earth is happening in the world around him. This boy, Felix, is so naive in his outlook that it’s really easy to empathise with him. I read it as a class reader and did many reading exercises on it. It was a big hit with all of the children.
‘Then’ follows on from Once and after only 15 pages, I feel like I’m back there with Felix, wanting to help him in the cruel world he is living in. Will it live up to the reputation of ‘Once’? Or will it be a ‘never again’?
Woah! Seems really good, definitely GOT to read that..

I got it from the library in Tunbridge Wells. I’m sure you’d find it in any book shop.
