This is another book that Rosie Hill, the lady who came to my school with Joe Craig, recommended for me. Thank you again Rosie for the recommendation!
This story is about a girl called Tiga who lives with a horrible lady called Miss Heks who makes her eat/drink cheese water. Mmmm! Fran the Fabulous Fairy visits her and explains that she needs to go with her, down the plug hole, to Ritzy City! It turns out that Tiga’s full name is actually an anagram for ‘I am a big witch’ which Fran shows her in a very Tom Marvolo Riddle/I am Lord Voldemort kinda way. She’s a witch and a different world is waiting for her…

As you can probably guess from the title, Tiga gets put into a competition called ‘Witch Wars’. But who volunteered her? How can she compete against other witches when she doesn’t even know any magic?
Luckily for Tiga, she is not alone. She befriends another witch and they help each other on their quest, however, they inevitably get into a pickle or two.
This is a brilliantly barmy book which is filled with many a wicked witch. Tiga learns that things aren’t always as they appear as well as working out what it means to be brave and to do the right thing.
Fourth book of the Easter holidays!
P.S.
This has not been an easy blog to write with Edie around…
